Visualising Empathy

I use the metaphor of placing metaphorical 'cameras' in different places: your head, your chest, someone else’s head, or even in the corner of the room. These cameras represent different modes of perspective—cognitive empathy, emotional empathy, self-awareness, etc. This visual model helps us understand empathy as multi-dimensional rather than a single trait. The popular discussion of empathy vs. sympathy often feels oversimplified to me, and I prefer a more nuanced approach.
