Hitchhiker Studio

This is my studio - the place where I write and play. I've crafted it from found objects with the aim of Documenting Conversations with other Hitchhikers who come to visit, or perhaps to reside.

Vaudeville Studio in London - a refuge and residency space for Hitchhikers.

The space is organised for multiple cameras and microphones, together with a range of social and work spaces.

# Paint, fabric and paper One one side of the room you can see a wall painted Lime Green, while the other side is yellow with place for 4 A0 flipcharts. In the middle there is low level seating for up to four people, and then a work desk with a view over the space and the balcony.

# Chroma Key The choice of lime green wall paint, and alos a hanging Elgota Green screen roller blind allows the use of the high quality chroma key funtionality fo the two Atem Mini video mixers.

The greatest problem with this space has been the Room Cabling. Lighting which is usually a problem in the studio is effective during daytime with natural light and at night using stands and professional video lighting for which there is room in the space without ruining its aesthetic appeal.

# Video Space Connection The space has been designed to be connected to other spaces. Firstly we have one Atem Mini mixer connected to a second experimental Green Room which can be used for live studio mixing and Full Body Green Screen.

Several cameras point to the balcony space and to the outside world, enabling us to bring in live footage of the busy street life, traffic, trains and famous Mosque in Finsbury Park. This enables us to represent the space embedded withing the environment of the local communty.

Finally, we have the Main Screen which is aligned with several camera shots to connect the space to International Online Participants.
